Eat To Live Organic Dinner - Jan. 14
"Eat To Live", an organic dinner, is a program of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce Green Committee to benefit First Town Downtown located at Bart's Beanery at 55 Palisado Avenue in Windsor. The next dinner will be held on Monday, January 14th. This month's organic menu includes Cheesy Vegetable Chowder; Pepper, Coriander and Sesame Seed-Crusted Salmon; Wrapped Asparagus; Pine Nut and Preserved Lemon Couscous; and Crustless Cranberry Pie, and always Coffee and Tea. A brief presentation during dessert will given by Melissa Everett, Ph.D., the Hartford Area Outreach Coordinator for Community Energy, Inc.
The mission of the Eat to Live program is to offer fun discussions about organic foods and tips for natural living while enjoying healthy meals together usually on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 pm. The cost is $15 and proceeds go to support First Town Downtown.
The dinners are held at the Beanery at Bart's, a Windsor landmark, which is a hub of new ideas and fresh ingredients where lots of people meet and eat. "We're happy to host the Eat to Live dinner," says Catering Manager, Carol Engelmann. The Beanery at Bart's is located at 55 Palisado Avenue in Windsor, CT.
Donations (cans or cash) are gladly accepted for the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank as well. (Checks can be written out to Windsor Community Service Council.)
