Noted Photographer at Loomis Chaffee

The Loomis Chaffee School Center for Global Studies, in conjunction with the Visual Arts Department, welcomes Abelardo Morell, Cuban-American photographer, on Tuesday, February 5, in Gilchrist Auditorium. There will be a reception from 6:15-7 p.m., followed by a slide lecture of his work from 7-8 p.m. Mr. Morell is a noted Cuban photographer whose work has been acclaimed internationally.

He is the recipient of the International Center of Photography Infinity Award, and the Decordova Museum Rappaport Prize, and has also received grants and fellowships for his photography. His life was filmed in the documentary, Shadow of the House: Photographer Abelardo Morell , which is a retrospective of him and his return to his homeland after 40 years of living in exile.
