Mardi Gras Family Fest POSTPONED

The Mardi Gras Family Fest Celebration scheduled for Friday, February 8th has been postponed due to the upcoming stow storm till March 8th and will be an "After Mardi Gras" party. More info will be forthcoming.

Join in the family fun on Friday, February 8, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at a Mardi Gras Family Fest Celebration to be held at the L.P Wilson Community Center, 599 Matianuck Avenue right here in Windsor. The theme for this event is “Good Clean Fun.”  Enjoy fun games, bounce house, crafts, mask-making, and music. Help design a float and join in the parade! Materials for floats will be available. You can wear your own costume or make one with materials that will be available. Food will be on sale at our Cafe, each item costing no more than a $1.

The event is created and run by the Maroon and Blue Crew of the Windsor Youth Service Bureau, to provide a fun filled affordable event for families. This is an initiative between the Youth Service Bureau and the Windsor Police Department, and is sponsored by the Windsor Youth Commission through a grant from the Capital Area Substance Abuse Council. Admission is $3 per person or $8 per family. Each individual will receive a prize ticket. Come join the Fun!

The Leaders in Training of the Maroon Blue Crew are getting ready to present their Mardi Gras Fest at the L.P.Wilson Center on Friday, February 8, 6-8:30PM. There will be all kinds of activities for families including all the materials to design a float and quickly create a costume to participate in a Mardi Gras parade in the gym. All the supplies will be provided, including noise makers, and there will be plenty of cart-like structures to be decorated and turned into "floats". Members of the Windsor Maroon-Blue Crew at the Windsor Youth Commission's "Meet and Greet" encouraging high school youth to join a new Youth Council to help create events and activities for children and teens. Youth will be meeting at 330 Windsor Avenue on Thursday, January 24, 5:30 - 7:30PM. Pizza and soda will be served.
