St. Patrick's Day Concert

Celticity will be performing a St. Patrick’s Day concert at Windsor’s Trinity Methodist Church on Sunday, March 17 at 4 pm. Celticity combines cutting-edge artistry, passion, and a contemporary touch to traditional Celtic music.  With a unique blend of instrumental sizzle, vocal beauty, and captivating arrangements, Celticity puts forth an immensely exciting and highly musical performance. 

 

Celticity is Sylvie Harris on guitars and banjo; Megan Sweeney on flute, fife, tin whistle and piccolo; and Phred Mileski, voice, psaltery, the Bodhran drum, and  accordion.

Born in Quebec, Canada, Sylvie Harris studied guitar at the Hartt School of Music (Hartford) and the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston) where she received a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance. Phred Mileski is a graduate of Connecticut College and has sung throughout the United States as well as in Canada and Europe. Megan Sweeney is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music where she studied classical flute performance with John Wion.  Megan is currently Director of Instrumental Music at the Plainfield Public Schools. 

Fans of Celtic, folk and acoustic music will enjoy Celticity's pan-Celtic repertoire which encompasses traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, and England -  from the Renaissance to today's favorites. 

Celticity has packed performance venues across New England from the Connecticut Irish Festival to the Ridgefield Playhouse. The trio released their debut CD in December which is available on CD Baby and Amazo The concert on March 17th at 4 PM will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 180 Park Ave. Windsor, CT   860-688-9245   Tickets at the door are $10. Children are free.
