Windsor's Own Big Al Anderson Takes the Stage Aug. 3

Big Al Anderson, one of the most prolific singer-songwriter artists around, will share his unique brand of country-rock this Saturday August 3 at 7 p.m. during SS&C SummerWind Performing Arts Center’s final show of the season.  Born in Windsor, Conn., for 22 years Anderson played guitar in the renowned New Rhythm and Blues Quartet (NRBQ). As former guitar-vocalist for The Wildweeds and as a solo performer, Anderson’s unique style is influenced by greats such as James Burton, Duane Eddy, Chet Atkins, Johnny Cash, and NRBQ guitarist Steve Ferguson.

Tickets for the Big Al Anderson performance this Saturday at 7 p.m., which may be purchased at the gate or online at [5], are $15 for general admission (tent and lawn seats on a first come first served basis) and $25 for premium reserved seats up front. Children 17 and under are free.

Jump-start the weekend this Friday at 5 p.m. as SummerWind hosts Chicopee, Mass.-based 80’s tribute dance party band Orange Crush [6]. A Grand Band Slam Hall Of Fame Best Cover Band (as voted by Valley Advocate readers), the four-member group nails dance-heavy smash hits from '80s recording artists such as REM, Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Journey, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Cheap Trick, The Cars and more.
