SEN. BLUMENTHAL VISITS WINDSOR HIGH SCHOOLíS CAREER TECHNOLOGY CLASSES
This past Friday, January 26, 2012, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) came to Windsor High School to highlight how Connecticut schools and businesses partner to give students skills that lead directly to a job after graduation ñ a major theme of the President's address last week. Sen. Blumenthal visited Connecticut schools and businesses that work together and discussed what Congress can do to cultivate and expand these partnerships to grow jobs.
Sen. Blumenthal visited many of Windsor High School's career technical education programs, followed by a tour of Alstom Power, an engineering services company that operates employee shadowing and internship programs to give Windsor High students experience in the renewable energy sector.
Sen. Blumenthal has been a leading advocate for career and technical schools as a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee and has introduced legislation to support skills programs and improvements at community colleges.

Windsor High School Culinary Arts students Loren Thomas, Orlando Joseph, Alaina Lewis and Lindsay Hawes demonstrated their cooking and restaurant management experience with U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal. They prepared and served dishes of their own creation at the morning reception.
